This was my second time reading this book. There are so many parallels
between the characters and my own mormon upbringing. On a personal level,
this book is very important to me. Many of us who are convinced that we
are God's chosen people have much to learn from each other.
The story isn't earth shaking, but paints a simple picture of growing
up with expectations place upon us by our Parents and communities. Often,
I think it is a crime that we try so hard to mold our children into what
we want them to be, rather than letting them discover life for themselves.
Do we have such little faith in the concept of truth? |
